XTR is a device which detects acoustic irregularities in terrains and was an essential part in the discover of the four artefacts.

It uses ultrasonic frequencies to calculate any close-surface irregularities, such as stones, water reservoirs or heavy metals, in a process similar to that of bat’s sonar detectors. The data recorded gets visualised as 2D maps which allow the user to navigate the acoustic composition of terrains. Any irregularities are displayed as bright blue areas, which can be viewed in the video of the s1.kC discovery site.
